On the morning of July 17, 2017, my life was forever changed when my beloved mother Clementine Johnson died at the age of 77 years old. No woman has had the most positive and profound impact on my life than my mother. My mother loved me unconditionally, prayed for me, wiped my tears, comforted me, feed me, cheered for me and away was there for me. My mother taught me by example what it meant to be a woman and a mother who loves, nurture, take care of and protect her children. My mother guided and trained me up in the way I should go in life so as I grown older I have not depart from my mother wisdom she instilled in me. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think about my mother. Life since my mother has pass away has not quite been the same. Holidays are not the same. Life celebrations like birthdays and graduations are not the same. But I find comfort in knowing that my mother is absence from me but now is present with Lord. In God presences, there is no more sickness, no more sadness and no more pain. I take comfort in knowing that one day I will see my mother again in heaven. In honor of my beloved mother and all the mothers who are no longer with us on this Mother’s Day, I dedicated this poem.

Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Exodus 20:12 KJV
